Germany tops EU investors in Vietnam
Germany has considered Vietnam as the second most attractive market in Asian region, after China, reported VNBusinessNews.com.
The online news was quoting Rolf Schulze, German ambassador to Vietnam as saying at a press conference on September 29 marking the 20th anniversary of the breakdown of Berlin Wall and 60th year of setting up the country's constitution.
The two countries bilateral trade reached $4 billion in 2008, the highest level among EU member countries investing in Vietnam. German government has funded 1 billion euro of ODA (Overseas Development Aid) loans since 1990 up to now.
The German ambassador also revealed that German Restructuring Bank has offered Vietnam a loan of $100 million for construction work on Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway.
At present, many German enterprises have involved in large construction projects in Vietnam such as National Convention Centre, Ministry of Public Security's Head Office, Hanoi Museum and Parliament House.
