Viet Nam-Russia judicial co-operation helps ties

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc the day before yesterday stressed that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Russia has had strong and in-depth development in all fields, including judicial co-operation.

Speaking to the Russian Minister Justice of A.V Konovalov, who was on a working visit to Viet Nam from November 19 to 21, Phuc expressed his hope that the judicial co-operation would develop further and contribute to bilateral relations.

In response, Konovalov pledged that his country's judicial sector will actively contribute to developing bilateral relations.

Earlier yesterday, the visiting official met with his Vietnamese counterpart Ha Hung Cuong, during which they affirmed that the two countries' relations in the law and judicial fields had experienced strong development.

They briefed each other on their respective countries' legal and judicial reforms.

They also exchanged views on the building of several laws of Viet Nam, including the revised Penal Code and the revised Criminal Procedure Code, as well as the training of Vietnamese judicial officers through organising courses biannually. — VNS
