The company said in a press release that iCafé, as the programme is known, will offer the shops a 70 percent discount on its Windows 7 and Office Pro Plus products, while giving them access to technologies and solutions which can support their business.
On the other hand, customers can find instructions to use Microsoft Office set up at the shops’ computers and then master computer skills without taking formal classes, as well as gain basic knowledge about Internet security.
As the first of its kind in Vietnam, the programme, scheduled to run till December 30, aims to encourage Internet shop owners to develop their service into centers offering access to technologies, skill training and chances to study to the community, the press release said.
The iCafé programme has already been run in some other countries in the Southeast Asia, including Thailand and the Philippines.
