Vietnam wants more US investors
Vietnam President Nguyen Minh Triet called on American investors to continue pouring funds into the country while receiving the US Amway Corp. Chairman Steve Van Andel in Hanoi on December 8, reported VNBusinessNews.com.
In the meeting, the State President lauded the multi-level marketing company’s performance in Vietnam and urged Amway to invest more and actively participate in charity activities helping the poor in Vietnam.
Vietnam is creating favourable conditions for foreign investors including those from the US, Triet affirmed, citing Vietnam’s recent efforts to reform administrative procedures and develop infrastructure. The leader expressed the hope that such economic and cultural activities will help the two countries put the past behind them and open new opportunities for cooperation.
For his part, Andel thanked President Triet for hosting his delegation and expressed his pleasure that Vietnam has overcome the economic slowdown and regained growth. He confirmed his group will go on investing in Vietnam and promised to convey Triet’s appeal to US investors upon his return to his home country.
