Thai election when normalcy returns
He was responding to a report that he has not dissolved the House of Representatives for fear that a general election would never take place.
He said the government will hold a general election only when the country is peaceful and orderly.
Mr. Abhisit said there were examples in many countries that holding an election brought social division and violence instead of democracy, lead to a failed election
All parties must join hands in bringing about peace and order to the country if they want a fresh election. Political activities must be lawful and without violence, he stressed.
