The Stock Exchange of Thailand index could reach 900 points by the end of the year, thanks to steady corporate earnings growth, Kasikorn Asset Management said.

The forecast, representing more than a 17 percent increase from current levels, assumes that foreign capital flows stabilise.

But the index could still reach 820 points in the second half of the year even political unrest and foreign capital outflows continue, said a first senior vice-president at K-Asset. The fund manager, a unit of Kasikornbank, predicts 730 points as the floor for the exchange index through the end of the year.
