Thai investment authority supports overseas investment
Speaking at a seminar, Thailand's overseas investment an opportunity to success, Mrs Atchaka said the law will cover a provision with low interest rate soft loan for Thai investors who plan to invest in foreign countries.
The law will also stipulate a tax exemption for profit posted by overseas investment. Moreover, two times of the expenses the Thai investors spent for carrying out feasibility study on overseas investment will also be allowed deduct their annual corporate tax, she added.
After the completion of the revision and amendment, the law would be forwarded to the next government for consideration, said the BoI secretary-general.
Thailand's overseas investment cost over the past 10 years had increased from less than US$100 million to US$2.7 billion at present, according to Mrs Atchaka.
She expected the overseas investment capital will rise to more than $US 3 billion in 2011.
