Floods reach prime minister’s home
Floodwater on Tuesday morning arrived at Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s residence in Soi Yothin Pattana 3 in Bangkok’s Buengkhum district, reports said.
The water on the road in front of Ms Yingluck’s home was reported to be about 30 centimetres deep. The floodwater had not yet flowed into the house as it was held back by a sandbag wall, according to the reports.
The prime minister is scheduled to chair a cabinet meeting at Government House this morning. About 2pm, she is scheduled to board an army helicopter to inspect the flood situation in Ayutthaya, particularly the Rojana industrial park and Hi-Tech (Bang Wa) industrial estate.
