Dhanin Chearavanont, Chaleo Yoovidhya and Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi are the only three Thais on the annual Forbes list of the world's dollar billionaires..

Mr. Dhanin and his family tripled their net worth from last year to $6.5 billion, ranking them 152nd on the list, reflecting the growth of the Charoen Pokphand Group agribusiness conglomerate. The figure eclipses the family's record of $5.3 billion in 25-baht dollars in 1994, a boom year in which Forbes listed a record 11 Thais as dollar billionaires.

Mr. Dhanin moved past Mr. Chaleo, who had led the Thailand table for the past few years. Mr. Chaleo, whose wealth comes mainly from Red Bull energy drinks, had a net worth estimated at $5 billion, up from $4.1 billion a year ago, placing him 208th on the list.

Mr. Charoen, whose holdings include the liquor and beer producer Thai Beverage and extensive property interests, placed 247th with $4.3 billion, up from $2.9 billion in the previous survey.
