Open skies pact to boost passenger flows, trade

The Kuwait and Thai governments have signed an open skies agreement, freeing up air travel between Thailand and the Middle East country, Thai News Agency reported.

Kuwaiti Director General of Civil Aviation Fawaz Al-Farah, who signed the agreement in Bangkok on Thursday with Thai aviation authorities, was quoted as saying that the agreement will allow national carriers of the two sides to operate flights with no restrictions on plane models or the number of seats.

Based on this agreement, Kuwaiti planes can fly to all international airports in Thailand, he said. Thai Airways International will have no restrictions on the number or type of flights going to or through Kuwait International Airport.

Besides, the agreement will increase passenger flows between the two countries, and boost trade exchange, the Kuwaiti official predicted.
