Thailand FM resigns over temple row
Thailand's Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama announced his resignation Thursday after coming under widespread criticism from having supported Cambodia's application to have an ancient temple on the disputed border with Thailand listed as a World Heritage site.

Noppadon made the announcement at a press conference at the Foreign Ministry, just days after Preah Vihear Temple was registered by Unesco as a World Heritage site.

Noppadon had been accused by opposition parties of having violated the Constitution by signing a joint communique in support of Cambodia's application last month, which critics said amounted to a treaty requiring prior approval from parliament.
