Thai power firm to invest $31m in wind farm project
Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding RATC.BK, Thailand's largest private power producer, plans to invest 1.11 billion baht ($31.50 million) in a wind power project in the north of the country.

The Phetchabun Wind Farm Project, with installed capacity of 60 MW and annual energy of 125 million gigawatt-hours of electricity (GWh), will be located in the northern province of Phetchabun and should be operational in 2011, Reuters quoted the firm as telling the exchange.

A privately held Thai firm, Renewable Energy Corporation, will have the remaining 74 percent stake in the 4.27 billion baht project.

The investment is part of Ratchaburi's plan to diversify into sustainable-energy fields.
