Director of PTTEP, General Lertrat Ratanavanich explains the energy-saving innovations pioneered by Thailand’s energy exploration giant.

The company that supplies Thailand’s dynamic economy with its oil and gas requirements, known by its acronym, PTTEP, is reducing its carbon footprint in its production processes.
 

Retired General Lertrat Ratanavanich has served as a PTTEP board member dating from 2000 to 2008 and since his retirement from senate in June of this year he has returned to that position. In an exclusive interview with Asean Affairs, General Lertrat gave an update on PTTEP’s current status and described PTTEP’s foray into reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

At the outset, the General said: “All of the PTT companies make up about 25 percent of the Thai stock market so it is important what we do.”
 

The strategy of PTTEP: “is that we have to work with the people to save the environment and so we are returning a good part of our profits back to the communities, to save our environment by involvement with other efforts, with other companies and communities or in this case, the organizer of this conference (Save Our Planet 5).”
 

“This is very important that we have to do it by cooperation with several partners outside of PTTEP.”

To continue to produce oil and gas PTTEP is widening its scope to include extraction from  ..................
