Singapore to inject $1.4m into emission reduction system
Singapore will provide S$2 million ($1.4 million) to fund a project for the test-bedding and type approval of a locally-developed technology.
According to a statement by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) on Thursday, the fund will be for the test-bedding and type approval of CSNOx, a locally-developed technology that reduces greenhouse gas and exhaust pollutants from ship emissions.
The CSNOx system was developed by Ecospec Global Technology PteLtd, a local research and technology company specializing in advanced emission reduction technology.
The CSNOx system, if successful tested and type approved under International Maritime Organization's requirements, could potentially contribute to global efforts in reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from ships.
