Promenada celebrates 2nd Phase opening with music concerts, street parades and special promotions

Chiang Mai – Following the successful opening of Promenada Resort Mall Chiang Mai’s first phase in June, the Second Phase (Building A) of the mall celebrated its opening on Friday 12 July with a weekend full of entertainment. In cooperation with the North of Thailand’s largest multimedia experience store, Chi Chang, in partnership with True Visions, the first resort-style shopping mall in Thailand offered a program featuring many different artists performing at a mini concert with a  highlight performance by Academy Fantasia star Patcha Anek-Ayuwat, and colourful street parades in and around the Mall.

Promenada’s ‘More than Just Shopping’ concept also took to the streets of Chiang Mai with external attractions that include a moving stage and flash dance performances. Free transportation was provided between Promenada and the town centre by Promenada songtaews during the event weekend.

Chi Chang’s 3,000 sq. metres Multimedia Experience Store at Promenada opened its doors for the first time during this launch weekend, welcoming customers to enjoy its exciting multimedia–based activity centre. Customers who showed the Chi Chang application on their smartphones received a Chi Chang club card with 50 points pre-loaded, which can be used to discount future purchases. A selection of special promotions, including discounts on smartphones, tablets, printers and laptops, are also available throughout July, with further details available on the Chi Chang Facebook page:

Mr. Tjeert Kwant, President and Chief Executive Officer of ECC International Real Estate, developer of the 2.9-billion Baht resort-mall project said, “We would like to invite our friends from the community of Chiang Mai to join us for an exceptional ‘more than just shopping’ experience which marked the opening of the second phase of Promenada. We are pleased to contribute a fresh and rejuvenating space where Chiang Mai residents can relax and enjoy time with friends and family, and also a new environment which will put them in touch with exceptional music, art and dance performances from local Chiang Mai artist. Promenada brings together an extraordinary mix of tenants and brands; Chi Chiang’s Multimedia Experience Store is an example of our desire to offer must-have names and stores which go beyond expectation to make the customer journey an attractive and addictive one.”

Another strong retail name familiar to the people of Chiang Mai is Rimping, which will introduce its own “Rimping Beyond” themed opening activities, with its location at building A of Promenada set to be ready to open on July 19th. It caps off a diverse and exciting tenant mix, which includes SF Cinema City, Uniqlo, Sports World, Kids@Play and many more shops and restaurants, some of which are making their Chiang Mai debut, in the coming months.

AseanAffairs   04 January 2011
By David Swartzentruber
