EUROCHAMBRES Support Office for Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs
As of today and until April 2015, EUROCHAMBRES will act for the second time as the Support Office for the ‘Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs’ programme, assisting around 150 local Organisations in 30 countries to create cross-border exchanges between new and experienced entrepreneurs.
EUROCHAMBRES was already acting as Support Office in the pilot phase of the programme, running from 2009 to 2011.
‘Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs’ allows new or would-be entrepreneurs to spend up to six months in another country to gather and exchange knowledge and business ideas with an experienced entrepreneur, which will then help them set up their business. The stay is partly financed by the European Commission.
This EU mobility scheme represents a practical and innovative response to the dual challenge of stimulating entrepreneurship and encouraging cross-border trade in Europe; an approach particularly valuable in times of economic crisis. So far the programme has supported more than 2,600 entrepreneurs across Europe via more than 1,300 exchanges between new and established entrepreneurs.
