Beautiful gardens become a beachside paradise with La Salsa Beach @PROM

Chiang Mai - Promenada Resort Mall Chiang Mai is going ‘totally tropical’ this summer with La Salsa Beach, a special event in which Prom’s lush tropical gardens are transformed into a beguiling and exotic beachside paradise! Promenada warmly invites residents of Chiang Mai  and all tourists from around the world to join together for a spectacular celebration of summer, held from 12 April to 11 May 2014, bringing a dreamy summertime beach experience to all! Shoppers fantasising of lazy days, plenty of sunshine, soft sand between the toes and a cooling dip in Prom’s specially created swimming pool will find an immersive beach atmosphere with attractions the whole family will absolutely love.

La Salsa Beach will set the stage for summer fun in Promenada’s indoor and outdoor areas, offering a welcoming and cosy beach bar, La Salsa Beach Caf?, and providing exotic chill-out, salsa and Latin music played by guest performers, Del Ritmo Latin-Jazz Band. The Beach Caf? will be offering colourful cocktails, imported beers and a selection of perfect wines for a summer day, in addition to Prom’s Bavaria Premium Beer stand helping to make beachside celebrations go with a swing.

Kids will absolutely adore the cooling fun of a playful splash in the children’s swimming pool (plus special activities and surprises in store too!), bringing a unique summer attraction to Chiang Mai city. Guests who wish to keep their toes dry can hit Prom’s great selection of stores for special summer promotions on summer clothing, beachwear and a range of other goods. Delicious food and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available from the restaurants of Promenada throughout this celebration of summertime fun and good sensations.

Shoppers and families can enjoy authentic salsa dance performances and a must-visit salsa workshop, as well as Zumba Dance and Zumba classes for the adventurous. La Salsa Beach will also host presentations of inspired sand sculptures in Promenada’s indoor and outdoor areas, representing the artistic flair of the residents of Chiang Mai and celebrating summer with an artistic flourish.

Thursdays will also feature special movie nights at Prom this summer, with beach-themed cinema presentations taking place on awesome 10-metre screens in the Amphitheatre on April 17, April 24, May 1 and May 8, 2014. This year in Thailand-what next?

It is commonplace in journalism to write two types of articles at the transition point between the year that has passed and the New Year. As this writer qualifies as an “old hand” in observing Thailand with a track record dating back 14 years, it is time take a shot at what may unfold in Thailand in 2011.

The first issue that can’t be answered is the health of Thailand’s beloved King Bhumibol, who is now 83 years old. He is the world's longest reigning monarch, but elaborate birthday celebrations in December failed to mask concern over his health. More
