Amatara Resort & Wellness: a magical Christmas calendar of culinary events for Christmas 2015 and New Year period

PANWA, PHUKET, THAILAND – Amatara Resort & Wellness, Thailand’s most prestigious resort and wellness experience, is pleased to announce its calendar of Christmas events for its luxurious eateries this Christmas and New Year.
Christmas Eve

The Restaurant at Amatara offers a Christmas Eve 6-course Set Dinner with classical piano accompaniment and carol singing forming the perfect backdrop to incredible cuisine beneath The Restaurant’s elegant eaves. The 6-course set is priced at 1,900 Baht ++ per person. Amatara’s The Grill, the resort’s expressive al fresco dining venue, offers the option of dinner overlooking the soothing wave-break of the Andaman Sea. Its Christmas Eve dinner presents succulent turkey and traditional Christmas desserts, priced at 1,500 Baht ++ per person.

Christmas Day – Lunch

The Grill will host an exquisite Christmas Day Brunch, a mix of buffet and a la carte main courses with traditional trimmings and a distinctive selection of desserts. The price starts at THB 2,100++ per person (include free flow soft drinks) and THB 2,600++ per person (include a half bottle of Amatara’s house-selected wine).

Christmas Day - Dinner

At The Restaurant on 25th December, there will be a Christmas Day Thai Seafood BBQ buffet dinner, a sumptuous Thai seafood barbeque featuring a bounty of ocean-fresh catches. The evening also offers Asian dessert favorites and mouthwatering Christmas desserts. Price is 1,900 Baht ++ per person. The Grill will also host its Christmas Day dinner, with beautifully cooked turkey to be enjoyed by the stunning Andaman pristine waters (priced at 1,500 Baht ++ per person).

New Year’s Eve

Amatara’s three restaurants join forces on New Year’s Eve for a massive spectacular themed party, under the concept of 007: Spectre. The Restaurant, The Grill and The Poolside lay on a lavish spread from 7pm onwards, opening the gates to a magnificent Bond-styled gala dinner evening.

This themed evening will see Amatara’s luxurious resort transformed into a decadent and glamorous affair, open to well-appointed Bonds and Bond Girls who want to enjoy a delicious 6-course “D?gustation” dinner with extravagant entertainment and New Year countdown. The atmosphere will buzz to the inspired jet-setting locales of the recent Spectre movie, complete with midnight fireworks and great tunes from Amatara’s resident DJ.

It is commonplace in journalism to write two types of articles at the transition point between the year that has passed and the New Year. As this writer qualifies as an “old hand” in observing Thailand with a track record dating back 14 years, it is time take a shot at what may unfold in Thailand in 2011.

The first issue that can’t be answered is the health of Thailand’s beloved King Bhumibol, who is now 83 years old. He is the world's longest reigning monarch, but elaborate birthday celebrations in December failed to mask concern over his health. More
