Four and More Years to Come!
AirAsia continues to nurture young Malaysian talent, Zulfahmi KUALA LUMPUR, 13 MARCH 2013 – AirAsia, the world’s best low cost carrier is proud to continue its support for sole Malaysian MotoGP rider, Zulfahmi Khairuddin in his 2013 campaign in the Moto3 category for the world championship. This will be the fourth full season for the 21 year old in the MotoGP. AirAsia began sponsoring Zulfahmi since his debut race at the Malaysian Grand Prix back in 2009 through the AirAsia Malaysia Wildcard Program. Since then, AirAsia has been instrumental in playing an active role in making his dream in the MotoGP come true. The rider who is better known as Fahmi surpassed all expectations and had a stellar season last year. Riding for Team AirAsia-SIC-Ajo Motorsport, he made history by becoming the first Malaysian rider to qualify in pole position and made it to the podium twice. At the end of the season, he was ranked 7th in the championship with 128 points; a feat no other Asean rider has achieved before. I will surely do my best this year to make Malaysia proud.” This year Fahmi will be racing in the Red Bull KTM Ajo team together with Spaniard Luis Salom and Arthur Sissis of Australia in the Moto3 category. The 2013 season begins with the Grand Prix of Qatar at the Losail Circuit from 4 to 7 April and will feature 18 races including the AirAsia Grand Prix of Japan.
