Eastern Telecom to spend P1B on 2018 expansion

Philippines: Eastern Telecom Philippines Inc. (ETPI) has earmarked P1 billion for expansion plans this year, mainly in the Central Luzon and Calabarzon regions.

“Actually, this year, we have a budget of almost P1 billion in terms of expansion, geographic expansion,” Michael Castaneda, head of sales at Eastern, told GMA News Online on the sidelines of a press launch in Manila City.

“As we mentioned before, wherever our clients are, we would want to go. We also want to be there,” he said.

Eastern is in the business of connectivity solutions, with a portfolio of internet, data, voice, and managed services for enterprises.

Castaneda said the company is currently looking at expanding in Region 3 (Central Luzon), Region 4 (Calabarzon), and other areas in the Visayas.

“Right now, ang immediate namin is the Region 3 and Region 4, and in the Cebu area,” he said.

“It’s both expansion and improving in terms of additional services. ‘Yung connectivity namin matagal na sa Region 3 and 4. We are offering additional services which is part of what we launched today,” he added.

Eastern also launched new offerings including Global Data, Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) Protection, Microsoft Azure and Office 365, and Managed SD-WAN (Wide Area Network) services.
