Thailand eyes on top four in Women's Volley ball
Thailand are aiming for a top-four finish in the 14th Asian Women's Volleyball Championship which begins today in Nakhon Ratchasima. The top three teams in the event (except China and Japan) will qualify for the World Olympic qualification tournament in Japan next May.

Thailand are assured of a place in the second round as there are only two teams in their Group A. The other side in the group are Australia following the withdrawal of Tajikistan.

There are four preliminary round groups with the top two teams from each group advancing to the next round. Thailand play Australia in the opening match of the tournament at The Mall Ratchasima today.

Thailand coach Nataphon Srisumutnak said he hoped his side finished in the top four and secured a spot in the 2008 Olympic qualifying tournament. Bkk post reports
