LPG price to be floated later this year
Thai Energy Minister Piyavasti Amranand on Monday reaffirmed that the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will definitely be floated by late this year.

He said the LPG flotation plan remains intact and that the ministry is revising its content regarding consumer safety and reducing the impact on them.
Mr. Piyavasti conceded that Thailand's oil refineries have aired their voiced concern that as more vehicle owners turn to use LPG, it could lead to the cancellation of LPG exports later this year and force the country to import the alternative fuel instead.

The trend is not unusual because many countries shared the common view that LPG could be used as a key alternative fuel because its costs are lower, and more importantly, it could help reduce oil imports, he said. TNA reports
