Singapore share prices shoot up
Singapore share prices were 0.94 percent higher at the midday break on Tuesday, rebounding from heavy losses a day earlier.
Dealers said the market rebounded following overnight gains on Wall Street.
On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 44.95 points to close at 13,566.97.
The key ST Index finished the Tuesday's morning session 34.17 points higher at 3,676.81 after falling 2.81 percent on Monday in line with sharp falls around the region following a rout on Wall Street.
There were 509 advances against 212 declining issues on a trading volume of nearly 1.1 billion shares.
Among gainers, SGX rose 50 cents to S$14.70 and DBS was 40 cents firmer at S$21.10. Courtesy AFP
