Foriegn minning firms interested in Philippines Minning sites
The Philippine Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Mines and Geo-Sciences Bureau announced on Sunday that several mining firms from Australia, Singapore and China have expressed interest to explore mining sites in Negros Oriental in central Philippines.

In a statement, the DENR-MGB said these foreign mining firms have already submitted their application for permits to conduct exploratory explorations in the town of Basay in Negros Oriental. The firms were said to be interested in gold and copper.

It added that the mining companies were also interested in exploring sites in the towns of Amlan, San Jose, Pamplona and Manjuyod, all in the same province. These towns were traditional mining sites for iron ore, sulphur and manganese. AHN Reports
