A380 to arrive at Ninoy airport October 11
The superjumbo A380 MSN009 will touch down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) October 11 at 2.45 pm. The Airbus A380, dubbed as the 21st century flagship, is currently on its technical route proving tour, which aims to demonstrate its performance under normal airline operating conditions and accumulate 150 hours of "typical airline" continuous operation.
The A380 MSN009 test aircraft will embark on a series of four tours to include destinations in South America, North America, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Now on its third tour through the Asia-Pacific from October 8 to 13, the A380 MSN009 will fly to Dubai, Manila and Clark and back to Dubai before returning to its home base in Toulouse, South West France.
At NAIA, government and airport officials headed by Leandro Mendoza, secretary of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and Alfonso Cusi, general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) will tour the A380.
The A380 technical tour will entail check on standard aircraft, maintenance and behavior as well as typical airport operations and compatibility, confirming the aircrafts readiness for entry into service.
On the other hand, airport security chief Gen, Angel Atutubo said the MIAA has been preparing for the arrival of the superjumbo, a twin-deck aircraft that seats 525 passengers in three classes in unprecedented comfort.
