Hong Kong toy makers to explore opportunities in Indonesia

A number of toy producers from Hong Kong was scheduled to visit Indonesia in June this year to explore investment possibilities in cooperation with local toy makers, Antara news agency quoted a diplomat as saying.

"It was planned that a number of Hong Kong toy producers will come to Indonesia in June. They are very serious in establishing cooperation and make an investment in Indonesia," Ferry Adamhar, Indonesian consul general in Hong Kong replied Antara`s question from Beijing.

Upon their arrival in Indonesia, the Hong Kong toy businessmen will among others observe industrial areas, Ferry said, calling on the Indonesian businessmen to pay serious attention to the business sector.

Data obtained from the National Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) showed that 315 Hong Kong companies had made an investment in Indonesia in the 1990-2007 period totalling US$3.68 billion, and absorbed 146,556 local workers.

The investment covered property, chemical and metal, textile and garment industries in West Java, Jakarta, Banten, Central Java and East Java.
