Bangkok, August 28, 2008 – Samsung vigorously moves forward into the premium television market segment with the ground-breaking launch of ‘Giorgio Armani – Samsung LCD TV’ – touted as the masterpiece television of the year. Combining the sophisticated and contemporary design from Giorgio Armani, one of the world’s most renowned fashion houses, and Samsung’s cutting-edge flat screen technology, the new LCD TV aims to serve a discriminating consumer seeking a prestige television that combines alluring design and top-of-the-class flat screen technology. The new television will be available exclusively through ‘Made to Order’ basis.

Mr. Suphot Leenanurak, Chief of Product Value Creator – AV, Thai Samsung Electronics Company Limited, reveals that after Samsung, the world’s leading manufacturer of design and technology, has joined with Giorgio Armani, the world’s leading fashion brand, in the pioneer creation of ‘Giorgio Armani – Samsung Fashion Phone’ launched with tremendous success earlier this year in Thailand, the companies continued the alliance in the development of a range of prestige home consumer electronics products matching Giorgio Armani’s iconic design aesthetic with Samsung’s cutting-edge technology. And today Samsung proudly presents the latest masterpiece creation ‘Giorgio Armani – Samsung LCD TV’ that exudes luxurious and elegant design by the legend for discerning consumers who look for a perfect blend of both aesthetic values and Full High Definition (Full HD) experiences. This new LCD TV can be seamlessly incorporated into the interior designs thus accentuates the beauty of one’s home.

As a world’s leader in audio & visual technology manufacturer who offers the world’s best-loved LCD TV with No.1 sales position both in Thailand and worldwide, Samsung features the top-of-the-line LCD TV technology Full HD 100 Hz in the ‘Giorgio Armani – Samsung LCD TV,’ offering double picture clarity of that in normal HD LCD TVs and four times picture clarity of those ordinary televisions. The technology gives smoother and crystal-clear pictures and the powerful built-in Subwoofer augments the sound quality to accentuate the watching experiences, especially for action movies or sports. The new television also comes with HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) connectors ready for users to enjoy the full ranges of the HD experiences.

To accentuate the aesthetic façade of this high-end LCD television, Giorgio Armani has meticulously combined his unique and stylish design elements into the look of the final product. The solid, seamless frame comes in natural lines of the glossy black lacquered wood that glows into live when touched by light. The specially-designed glass panel at the front creates extra watching pleasure yet conveying pure emotional expression. Other unique design elements include a special 4-mode lighted power switch that customizes the display of the two companies’ logos on the front of the television. The remote control comes alive with radiant backlights to present a full range of convenient and luxurious features, even at rest. The television also comes with a smaller, pebble-shaped remote for basic functions that rests at the corner of the stand.

‘Giorgio Armani – Samsung LCD TV’ is available in two models, 46-inch at Bt249,990 and 52-inch at Bt289,990. The television is available exclusively on made-to-order basis.
As the leader in the audio-visual market, Samsung has been relentless in our product developments to suit the demands of our consumers who currently become increasingly style-conscious in the selections of home appliances and electronics products. This partnership therefore affords us the chance to offer those consumers unique products with Giorgio Armani’s sophisticated, iconic style with Samsung’s leading technology,” added Mr. Suphot.
Samsung has enjoyed a better-than-expected performance in the first half of this year with over Bt4 billion in total sales revenues. The company has hoped to grow more than 40% in the audio and visual products that last year earned the company Bt6.8 billion.
