Illegal billboards in metro Manila dismantled
The Philippine Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) dismantled seven illegal and unsafe billboards in Quezon City and Manila on August 14.

The "Operation Baklas Billboard" of the DPWH is in response to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's Administrative Order 160 which directed the department to dismantle billboards posing imminent danger to the public and constructed without the necessary permit.

To date, the DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) in coordination with the DPWH National Building Code Development Office has already dismantled 3,890 illegal and unsafe billboards along national roads in Metro Manila. PNA
