Proton Neo and Waja launched in Indonesia
Proton Holdings Bhd through its subsidiary PT Proton Edar Indonesia on July 19 launched two new models, Neo and Waja, at the 15th Indonesia International Motorshow, the biggest automotive event in that country.

With these additions, Proton now has four models in the Indonesian market, the Gen.2 and Savvy having made their entry on March 16 this year.

"We are confident that the 4-door sedan Waja and 3-door hatchback Neo will offer the Indonesian market further options in terms of high quality cars at competitive prices," Proton Holdings chairman Datuk Mohammed Azlan Hashim said in a statement here.

Priced from 175 million rupiah, the Neo is offered in both manual and automatic transmission versions. The Waja, priced from Rp 158 million, is likewise available in both versions.

The two models were unveiled by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and among those present were the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Datuk Zainal Abidin Mohamed Zain, Mohammed Azlan and Proton managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohd Tahir. Bernama
