Laos, Myanmar boost further cooperation
Laos and Myanmar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further cooperation between two countries.

The MoU was signed during Lao Minister of Security, Thongbanh Sengakhom and his delegation visited Myanmar from June 10 to 13.

The MoU was signed to further the implementation of cooperation plan between the Lao Ministry of Security and the Myanmarese Ministry of Interior, signed in 1997. The Lao delegation was warmly welcomed by Myanmarese Minister of Interior Maung Oo.

Two sides have discussed to further cooperation and exchanged point of views and lessons, based on mutual understanding and friendship, particularly two ministries.
In particular borders security between Laos and Myanmar with an aim to make borderline of two countries as peace, friendship and cooperation as well as provide facilitate for trade between peoples.

They have also agreed to joint cooperation that covered various fields including security, national stability, information exchange, joint their patrol cooperation along border, countering transnational crimes, human trafficking, terrorism and illegal immigration.

In addition, two sides have joined to increasing immigration, solving of borders, the protection of illegal mining excavation, illegal woods and wildlife trafficking, the protection of environment, the suppression of narcotics and mutual assistance on technical term, particular exchange information and study tour between two ministries.
The Lao delegation has also visited the Police Training Institute of Myanmar. KPL
