Indonesia to be Self Sufficient in Energy Efficient Lamp
Indonesia hopes to be self sufficient in supply of energy efficient lamps in 2010 when the requirement is estimated to reach 160 million units. Four new factories to produce energy efficient electric lamps are expected to come on line next year, the association of electric lamp industry (Aperlindo) said. Aperlindo chairman John Manoppo said currently the country has 11 factories with a total capacity of 80 million units of energy efficient lamps a year.
John said the capacity is expected to increase 20-30 per cent annually so that by 2010, the country will not only be self sufficient but will have an exportable surplus.
