Output at Vietnam's Song Doc field seen at 25,000 bpd in 2009
Output from Vietnam's Song Doc oil field, which came onstream in November, is estimated to average 25,000 barrels per day next year, Reuters quoted the field's operator as saying Friday.

Output now stands at around 20,000-25,000 bpd and 2009 production is planned at 9 million barrels, or 25,000 bpd, Song Doc's operator Truong Son JOC said in a statement.

Song Doc produces light sweet crude with an API gravity of 35.8 and a sulphur content of 0.047 percent, making it slightly lighter than Bunga Kekwa but a touch more sulphuric.

Canada's Talisman Energy and Malaysia's Petronas each own 30 percent of the field, with state oil monopoly Petrovietnam holding the remaining 40 percent.

Last week Petrovietnam's marketer PV Oil sold two 250,000-barrels cargoes of Song Doc crude for January loading at Minas quotes minus $6.00 a barrel, down from a $5.00 discount fetched for December cargoes, and further down from a $3.50 discount fetched for November.
