AGRAGEX Trade Delegation to Malaysia and Myanmar.

A Spanish trade delegation of agricultural and livestock equipment manufacturers visit Malaysia and Myanmar with AGRAGEX
AGRAGEX, the Spanish Exporters Association of Agricultural Machinery and its components, Greenhouses and Crop Protection, Irrigation Systems, Livestock Equipment, Nutrition and Animal Health, Forestry Machinery, Biomass and Post-Harvesting Equipment from Spain has organized, with ICEX (the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) the visit of a trade delegation to Malaysia and Myanmar between June 29th and July 6th.

A group of eleven Spanish manufacturers, supported by AGRAGEX, visit Malaysia and Myanmar to give out the main assets of Spanish agricultural and livestock equipment industry: advanced technology in great value and great adaptability to specific requirements. Spanish companies consider Southeast Asia an important market and they want to expand their presence in this area and be part of its agricultural and animal care technologies upgrading.

AGRAGEX organizes this trade delegation and will provide complete information about the Spanish industry and companies to stakeholders, featuring its strengths and competitive advantages. The group will arrive Malaysia on June 29th and Myanmar on July 3rd.

Animal care
Spanish companies are very interested on animal breeding sector in this region. Animal Nutrition and Animal Health industries from Spain can provide the technology to achieve solutions to face the future requirements of a growing global demand for meat. Its wide range of products is in the path of new trends (food safety, animal feed safety, feed efficiency and sustainability).

Malaysia current agriculture is changing from an extensive model to an intensive one, focused on improving productivity to be competitive in foreign markets. Technology has a key rol in this changes and Spanish industry offers a wide range of european technology absolutely adapted to any specific requirements. Moreover, the challenge of Malaysia smallholdings also have the challenge to modernize. Spanish manufacturers want to stablish long term commercial connections to be part of this evolution.

Agriculture is a main part of Myanmar’s economy and to focus invests in this sector to transform conventional farming into mechanized farming is key to drive agricultural productivity, experts recommend. Spanish recognized flexibility allows its manufacturers to offer small series of equipment attending local requirements, where big multinationals companies are unable to serve due to their unflexible production.

It is commonplace in journalism to write two types of articles at the transition point between the year that has passed and the New Year. As this writer qualifies as an “old hand” in observing Thailand with a track record dating back 14 years, it is time take a shot at what may unfold in Thailand in 2011.

The first issue that can’t be answered is the health of Thailand’s beloved King Bhumibol, who is now 83 years old. He is the world's longest reigning monarch, but elaborate birthday celebrations in December failed to mask concern over his health. More
