Stimulus packages save Malaysian PR firms
Malaysia’s public relations industry, which has emerge relatively unscathed from the global economic crisis, is set to record further growth this year, thanks to the government’s various stimulus packages, reported the StarBiz.
Chair of Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management John Paluszek says the stimulus measures introduced last year were timely and appropriate as they boosted confidence among businesses which in turn generated demand for good public relations practitioners.
“Malaysia is on the right track in promoting the profession. This is because apart from the various stimulus measures by the government to boost economic growth, the profession has also found its roots in the governmental and non-governmental sectors.
“With information technology gaining importance in every sphere of the business, the PR profession has picked fast as it complements the traditional media like TV, radio and print,” he says in an interview.
Paluszek says he expects the PR industry globally as well as in Malaysia to chart stronger growth this year in tandem with better economic prospect.
