Malaysia: Proton’s marketing arm to set up 50 exclusive parts dealers
Proton Edar Sdn Bhd, aims to establish 50 exclusive Proton Parts stockists in each state by 2013, reported national news agency Bernama.
Proton Edar Sdn Bhd is the local marketing arm of Proton Holdings Bhd.
"By year-end, Proton aims to establish 13 exclusive stockists at all major towns in each state," its Chief Executive Officer, Mohamad Shukor Ibrahim said on Monday.
He was speaking to reporters after officiating the maiden exclusive stockist outlet, AME Auto Parts Sdn Bhd, in Petaling Jaya here on Monday.
He also disclosed that two more such outlets would be opened in Segambut and Gombak, soon.
AME Auto Parts, which has a 25-year association with Proton as a parts stockist, looks at the new development as a positive move by the national car manufacturere to further enhance its brand.
The establishment of the exclusive Proton Parts stockists outlets is in line with the company's mission to provide its customers with an excellent ownership experience.
"Apart from providing a platform for customers to confidently purchase genuine parts, the establishment of the outlets, is also aimed at eliminating confusion over imitation parts sold at the prices of those that are genuine," Mohamad Shukor said.
He said there is a huge opportunity for the spare parts business with 2.4 million Proton cars on the road.
