Honda to recall 87,182 vehicles in Malaysia

HONDA Malaysia has launched a precautionary update for 87,182 units of Honda vehicles that comprise a range of models to replace the driver and passenger airbag inflators with newly-produced inflators for all affected models.

It said on Thursday the units are the City (year of manufacture from 2003 to 2008); Civic (2003 to 2008); CR-V (2002 to 2007); Jazz (2004 to 2006), Stream (2004 to 2005).

“Honda Malaysia deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to all affected customers. The precautionary efforts do not affect Honda’s current selling models,” it said. “As of today, there were no crashes or injuries related to this issue reported in Malaysia,” it said in a statement.

Honda Malaysia said it would inform all customers involved via notification letters which will include details of the product update.

It advised customers who receive these letters to send their vehicles to the nearest authorised Honda dealer for inspection.

Honda Malaysia urged owners of Honda vehicles affected for the product updates to get their vehicles checked and parts replaced at any authorised Honda dealers as soon as possible.
