EON's New Proton Saga sales up

Edaran Otomobil Nasional Bhd (EON) has reported brisk sales for the new Proton Saga with 9,063 units booked in the first four weeks.

EON managing director Datuk Syed Hisham Syed Wazir said enthusiasm for the new model first saw pre-launch bookings of 2,755 units which began as early as Jan 1, 2008, through a number of customer relation activities.

"Our success has been driven by our new sales approach in which a closer customer rapport is established, and confidence for EON and Proton cars is underscored," he said in a statement Wednesday.

Syed Hisham said from the relationship marketing, the company has been able to conduct test drives for over 300 potential customers at its recent weekend "EON Karnival 2008" which saw a 4,000-strong crowd.

He said EON, a super dealer for Proton cars, was expecting sustained interest for the new Proton Saga as branches and sales dealerships continued to be a hive of activity, recording brisk sales.

The company's sales network comprises 40 sales branches and 66 sales dealers nationwide.

EON said it has plans for more festive activities in the next six months with similar carnivals in the other regions.
