Sumitomo raided in Indonesia
Corruption Eradication Commission officials confiscated documents during the raid on Tuesday in Jakarta, local media said.
Investigators are examining allegations of corruption surrounding the import of used railway coaches donated to Indonesia by the Japanese government.
'We want to obtain a detailed view of the shipping process for the carriages in 2006,' commission spokesman Johan Budi was quoted as saying by The Jakarta Globe.
Officials were not immediately available to independently confirm the raid. The commission questioned Sumitomo executive Hideyuki Nishio earlier this year as part of the ongoing probe into allegations that the coaches' import costs were deliberately inflated.
A former railways director at the transport ministry has been officially named as a suspect in the case.
