The head of National Anti-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Ansyad Mba'i on Thursday told the public not to panic in the face of rumored terrorist threats as the verdict hearing for Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir was under way.

“Our officers are alert but there are no serious indications,” Ansyaad told news portal on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the panel of judges at Bashir's trial continued reading the verdict, recalling statements from previous hearings.

"Witness Abdul Haris admitted that the defendant met with Harry Usman and Syarifusman and told them that his jihad program needed money," Herry read the ruling.

Haris was the chair of Jakarta chapter of Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) and admitted to having frequent meetings with Bashir.

After 1.5 hours judge Herry asked Bashir and his lawyers whether the judges should read the testimonies of all 30 witnesses.

"It can take another five hours," Herry said.

Bashir' party agreed for the judges to skip the testimonies except for defense testimonies and witnesses.

The trial is ongoing.
