Indonesia promises incentives for energy investors
He added that Indonesia desperately needed to boost investment in this sector to cater for a rapid expansion of domestic demand following the country's impressive economic growth in recent years. "In a bid to encourage more investment, the government will consider providing incentives and more attractive conditions in production-sharing contracts," Darwin told attendants at the US-Indonesia Energy Investment Roundtable in Jakarta on Monday. The roundtable aims to strengthen cooperation between the US and Indonesia, and serve as a platform to share experiences and information on policies and activities to improve the investment climate, as well as to encourage public-private investment partnerships in the energy sector.
