US investors see Indonesia’s infrastructure the most attractive
Infrastructure in Indonesia is the most attractive sector US businessmen want to invest in, Chairman of the US Chamber of Commerce Robert S Milligan was quoted by the Jakarta Post as saying.
"It seems that the infrastructure sector was the most attractive one. The sector we can develop is, for instance, toll roads," Milligan said following a meeting with Vice President Boediono at the latter’s office in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Wednesday.
But Milligan stopped short of revealing the amount of funds his side had prepared to invest in the sector.
Milligan was accompanied by US Ambassador to Indonesia Cameron Hume, Chairman of the US Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peter F Gontha and businessman James Riyadi.
Ambassador Cameron Hume meanwhile said the meeting with the Indonesian vice president focused on prospects for foreign investments in Indonesia. "I saw a positive sentiment in Indonesia," Hume said.
