The Indonesian government plans to build a coal terminal at Rawamekar Jaya village in Serpong sub-district in South Tangerang municipality, Jakarta Post reported, quoting a Transportation Ministry official.

An environmental impact analysis was being conducted on the area where the terminal would be built, Director general of railway affairs Tunjung Inderawan was quoted as telling Antara state news agency on Monday.

The construction project is expected to start in 2011, pending completion of feasibility study to be conducted on the plan. The terminal will secure coal supply for Greater Jakarta, he said.
