Indonesia Stock Exchange Performed Capital Market Awards 2013

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), in cooperation with the Indonesian Clearing and the Guarantee Corporation and the Indonesian Central Securities Depository, performed Capital Market Awards 2013 in the Ballroom of Ritz Carlton Pacific Place, Jakarta. The event was attended by the Chairman of Board of Commisioner of Indonesia Financial Services Authority, Muliaman D. Hadad, the Chief Executive of Capital Market Supervisory of Indonesia Financial Services Authority, Nurhaida, Indonesia Financial Services Authority officials, and Directors of Listed Companies and IDX Members.

The Capital Market Awards 2013 was held as an accolade to excellence of the participants of Indonesia capital markets, especially Exchange Members and Listed Companies that have made a significant contribution to the development of Indonesia capital markets, so that the capital market attractiveness could be maintained in the eye of investors and be a driving force of the formidable national economy. The commitment of capital market participants to the development of capital market infrastructure as well as the implementation of good corporate governance is hoped to bring Indonesia capital market to a high level of integrity and global competitiveness.

Moreover, the theme of “Indonesia Capital Markets: Embracing New Horizon” reflected the rising of middle class in Indonesia that have potential to bring the country to become the Middle-Income Country. The country’s economic growth is an opportunity as well as challenge for Indonesia capital markets to reach the next level, towards a new horizon.

All Listed Companies and Exchange Members listed in IDX were automatically included in the selection of Capital Market Awards 2013. The assessment for winner was conducted by the Jury Board consisting of representatives of various professions:

1. Bacelius Ruru, SH, LLM Chairman of the Indonesian Capital Market Arbitration Board (BAPMI)
2. Edhi Santoso Widjojo, CFA President Director of PT AXA Asset Management Indonesia
3. Ferdinand Sadeli, CFA, CPA Head of Financial Analyst Academy, Binus Business School
4. Fred B.G Tumbuan Senior Partner of Law Firm Tumbuan & Partners
5. Dr. Ir. G. Suprayitno, MM Chairman The Indonesian Institute for Corporate Governance (IICG)
6. Harry Su, CFA Head of Research PT Bahana Securities
7. Dr. Ludovicus Sensi W., CPA Partner of Public Accountant Firm Mulyamin Sensi Suryanto & Liany (Moores Stephens International)
8. Ronald T. Andi Kasim, CFA President Director of PT Pefindo
9. Roy Iman Wirahardja, CPA Partner of Public Accountant Firm Purwantono, Suherman & Surja (Ernst & Young)
10. Tuti Hadiputranto, SH Senior Partner of Law Firm Hadiputranto Hadinoto & Partners

 

After going through a selection process, the Jury Board has selected the nominees for each category of Capital Market Awards 2013 as follows:

1. The Best Stock Issuer with Market Capitalization above IDR 10 Trillion:
- PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk;
- PT Astra International Tbk;
- PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk;
- PT Bank Central Asia Tbk.
2. The Best Stock Issuer with Market Capitalization up to IDR 10 Trillion:
- PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk;
- PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk;
- PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk.
3. The Best Bond Issuer for Listed Company:
- PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk;
- PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk;
- PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk.
4. The Best Bond Issuer for Non Listed Company:
- PT Federal International Finance;
- PT Pegadaian (Persero);
- PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur.
5. The Best Exchange Members based on Financial Performance and Compliance:
- PT Credit Suisse Securities Indonesia;
- PT Panin Sekuritas Tbk;
- PT J.P. Morgan Securities Indonesia.
6. The Best Exchange Members based on Trading Activity:
- PT eTrading Securities;
- PT Credit Suisse Securities Indonesia;
- PT Bahana Securities.
7. The Best Exchange Members based on Investor Growth:
- PT eTrading Securities;
- PT Indo Premier Securities;
- PT Mandiri Sekuritas.
8. The Best Exchange Members based on Marketing Network:
- PT BNI Securities;
- PT Indo Premier Securities;
- PT eTrading Securities
9. The Most Active Underwriter:
- PT Mandiri Sekuritas;
- PT Indo Premier Securities;
- PT Danareksa Sekuritas.

Further assessment was then performed on the nominees for each category, and the Jury Board has decided the winners of Capital Market Awards 2013 are:

1. The Best Stock Issuer with Market Capitalization above IDR 10 Trillion: PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk;
2. The Best Stock Issuer with Market Capitalization up to IDR 10 Trillion: PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk;
3. The Best Bond Issuer for Listed Company: PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk;
4. The Best Bond Issuer for Non Listed Company: PT Federal International Finance;
5. The Best Exchange Members based on Financial Performance and Compliance: PT Credit Suisse Securities Indonesia;
6. The Best Award to Exchange Members based on Trading Activity: PT eTrading Securities;
7. The Best Exchange Members based on Investor Growth: PT eTrading Securities;
8.  The Best Exchange Members based on Marketing Network: PT BNI Securities;
9.  The Most Active Underwriter: PT Mandiri Sekuritas.

It is commonplace in journalism to write two types of articles at the transition point between the year that has passed and the New Year. As this writer qualifies as an “old hand” in observing Thailand with a track record dating back 14 years, it is time take a shot at what may unfold in Thailand in 2011.

The first issue that can’t be answered is the health of Thailand’s beloved King Bhumibol, who is now 83 years old. He is the world's longest reigning monarch, but elaborate birthday celebrations in December failed to mask concern over his health. More
