China’s A-Power to build generation system in Thailand
Power systems firm A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd said it agreed to build a power generation system worth $300 million for a Thai company, sending its shares up as much as 10 percent, reported Reuters.

The company said it would develop the 600 megawatts (MW) project in the Chachengsao province in Thailand for the National Power Supply Co, a unit of Advance Agro Public Co Ltd.

In April, A-Power had signed a similar deal with National Power to build a 300 MW power generation system.

The project is expected to begin in August and will be completed in about 42 months, the company said in a statement.

Shares of the Shenyang, China-based company were trading up $2.05 at $26 Wednesday morning on Nasdaq.
