Local travel firm offers new Europe tour packages
LOCAL tour operator Freme Travel Services Sdn Bhd has partnered with global travel company Trafalgar Tours to develop tour packages as the weaker sterling is expected to encourage Bruneians to travel to Europe.
Freme’s Managing Director Michael LP Lee said the tour packages will include travels not only to UK but also to Iceland, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Balkan states.
Freme will be promoting the new European tour packages, which will include early bird discounts, in the next few weeks.
Trafalgar Sales Manager Daniel Tan said the collaboration with Freme is a new avenue as Trafalgar will provide tour services and unique accommodations for its clients.
“You can buy our tours to Spain and get to know the former palaces in that country. Our transportation coach is equipped with WiFi access so that you can send pictures to families at home online quickly,” he said.
Tan said this year is the first time Trafalgar collaborated with Freme as they are looking to gain more market share in Brunei and other ASEAN countries.
In a report published Thursday, travel agents said they are expecting higher sales and increased bookings as Bruneians will likely take advantage of the favourable exchange rate to visit their children who are studying in the UK.
Britan’s decision to leave the European Union has sent the pound crashing to 31-year lows.
The sterling is currently trading at $1.78 against the Singapore dollar. The Brunei dollar is pegged against the Singaporean currency.
