Singapore will continue to work constructively, objectively to advance ASEAN-China relations
VIENTIANE, Laos: As country coordinator for dialogue relations between the Association of Southeast Nations (ASEAN) and China, Singapore will continue to work constructively and objectively with both parties to advance the relationship for mutual benefit, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday (Sep 6).
He was speaking at a bilateral meeting with China Premier Li Keqiang on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Laos from Sep 6-8.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said that Mr Lee congratulated Mr Li on the success of China's first-ever hosting of the G20 summit from Sep 4-5. Mr Lee also "recalled the good meetings" with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Hangzhou and with Chongqing Party Secretary Sun Zhengcai in Chongqing, said the PMO.
At their meeting, both Mr Lee and Mr Li also affirmed the "dynamic, broad and deep relations" between ASEAN and China at all levels, added PMO.
ASEAN and China will also celebrate its silver jubilee, or 25th year, of dialogue relations at the ASEAN-China Commemorative Summit on Wednesday

Indonesia to launch 13th economic package this month
Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution said on Wednesday that the government would release its 13th economic policy package in August, adding that the draft had been completed.
Darmin said the 13th package was largely an extension of the previous one, but would expand its focus beyond industry. The 12th package focused on small and medium enterprises.
"We are just waiting to schedule a meeting with the president," Darmin told reporters at his office. He refused to give the exact date the new policy package would come into effect.
The ministry team must meet with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo one more time to finalize the details, Darmin said.
